Using MIDI loops

If you don't have a MIDI keyboard, another approach is to use MIDI loops. Music Creator includes a variety of MIDI loops, or patterns, that you can add to your project to play software instruments. Adding MIDI loops is the same as adding audio loops to your project. You can also preview MIDI loops the same way you can preview audio loops.

Let's go back to the Home screenset to add a MIDI loop to the Cakewalk Sound Center track.

1.	In the Browser, click the Media tab .

2.	In the Presets drop-down menu, select MIDI Groove Clips.

3.	Open the folder Bass, by double-clicking on it.

4.	Open the folder Funk, by double-clicking on it.

5.	Drag the file Funk1_bs.mid to the Cakewalk Sound Center track.

6.	“Roll out” the loop for a few measures.

Click Play in the transport to hear the song playback with the newly added MIDI loop. The MIDI loop should be playing the same program you selected in Cakewalk Sound Center.

You can create notes of any duration. If you want 32nd notes or triplets, specify the desired Musical Time resolution in the Snap to Grid dialog box (see Snap to Grid dialog).
